“Brass music connects us across borders because it excites us
and helps make friendships.”
Ladies and gentlemen,
dear friends of brass music,
we all missed the European Wind Band Festival during the past two Corona years very much. As the festival’s patron, I am glad that we are able to start up again. Aue-Bad Schlema will once again become the capital of the European brass band scene for an entire September weekend and will continue a tradition that was started 30 years ago.
Congratulations on this anniversary! I greet all musicians and all visitors and wish them a wonderful music festival. Brass music connects us across borders and boundaries because it excites and moves us. Music helps make friendships and inspires us to hold something as amazing as the European Wind Band Festival.
I want to thank the Bergmannsblasorchester, the city of Aue-Bad Schlema and all the supporters, donors and sponsors for the great engagement whereby the European Wind Band Festival becomes possible once more, defying the pandemic and its ramifications. I wish all participants and visitors great weather, a great time and thrilling brass music.
Glück Auf!
